D.U.I. and What it Can Cost

DUI fines, of course, vary depending on circumstance and jurisdiction. For a first offense, some states impose D.U.I. fines ranging from $500 to $1,000. If you or someone you know has been charged with a D.U.I. and has had prior D.U.I. convictions, some states require a fine payment of up to $15,000.

While these fines are stiff, they are not the only fines that can be imposed on a convict by the criminal justice system. For example, the DMV (department of motor vehicles) may also try to impose D.U.I. fines.

And these are not the only costs a defendant should take into consideration. For example, one must consider the time that will be required of D.U.I. legal proceedings, the money required to secure good legal help and a variety of other related costs.
